I am a Washington State certified peer counselor based in Spokane, WA, and the founder of Locked In Fathers Alliance, a community-driven initiative dedicated to supporting Black fathers. My mission is to create a safe space where fathers can connect, share experiences, and access the resources they need to thrive Through peer support, mentorship, and strategic programming, I work to strengthen family bonds, advocate for mental health awareness, and empower fathers to be confident leaders in their homes and communities.

I specialize in peer support, violence prevention, mental health advocacy, and community wellness with a focus on providing culturally relevant support for Black fathers I lead peer support groups, workshops, and leadership programs that help fathers navigate the challenges of parenting, relationships, and systemic barriers. Through collaboration with organizations like The Shades of Motherhood Network, I also work to secure grant funding that expands our reach and deepens our impact.

My personal experiences as a Black father have profoundly shaped my work, I understand the unique struggles that many fathers face, from systemic challenges to emotional and mental health concerns These lived experiences fuel my passion for building inclusive healing centered spaces where fathers feel seen, heard, and valued.

I take a healing-centered engagement approach, focusing on strength-based support, cultural humility, and the power of community! believe that every father deserves mentorship, mental heath resources and a brotherhood of support to help them grow as parents and Individuals. in my work, emphasize balancing empathy with structure setting dear expectations maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring that fathers have access to the right community resources. My goal is to create a sustainable, empowering, and transformative support system that helps fathers and families flourish.

As a certified peer counselor, I have completed multiple trainings that enhance my ability to support. fathers and familles: including Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery Certified Peer Counselor, GRS Support Group Facilitator Training, Community Health Worker Training Core Competencies, Adult Mental Health First Aid USA, Stronger Together Community Care for Black Material Mental Health Training, Crisis Management Critical Thinking in Crisis Preparation, and How to Be Anti-Racist in the Everyday Practice of Public Heath (CE). I am committed to continuous learning and professional development to ensure that tam providing the best possible support to the fathers and families work with.

I offer both in person and virtual peer support services, including one-an-one and group sessions designed specifically for Black fathers. My work is deeply rooted in community engagement and actively collaborate with local and national organizations to advocate for fatherhood support, mental health awareness, and family well-being.

I founded Locked in Fathers Alliance because i saw a critical gap in support for Black fathers Too often, fathers feel isolated, unsupported, or disconnected from the resources they need to succeed in their roles as parents and community leaders want to change that.

My mission is to empower Black fathers, strengthen familles, and promote mental health awareness, I believe that when fathers are supported, entire communities benefit. Through mentorship, advocacy, and peer support, i aim to break cycles uplift miles and create lasting change.

My name is Jay Troutt, and I’m a Washington State Certified peer counselor based in Spokane, WA. I’ve been a barber for over 20 years, working with a wide range of clients in downtown Spokane. This gives me the opportunity to work with many different people-students, parents, business owners, and more, I get along with all demographics, which helps me connect easily with people from all walks of life/In terms of mental health challenges, 1 have experience supporting individuals with youth behavioral challenges, substance use and recovery, and personal issues like being a good husband and father.

As someone who has lived through different struggles, my personal experiences deeply inform my approach to peer counseling. I value honesty, peace, and authenticity in my work, and aim to create a space where people feel comfortable being themselves. My recovery journey, especially overcoming challenges in my personal life, has helped me stay grounded in my practice. My name is Stephanie Courtney, and I am a Washington State Certified peer counselor and maternal health advocate based in Spokane, Washington. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English from Whitworth Univelty in 2009 and went on to complete a master’s in education from Ashford University in 2012.

In 2015, I founded The Learning Project Network, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing the lack of culturally diverse educators and resources for early learners. My work focuses on multicultural education, social justice, mental health, and creating inclusive spaces where children and educators alike can thrive.

My passion for maternal health led me to establish The Shades of Motherhood Network, where I serve as CEO and Executive Director. I believe that every Black mother deserves culturally responsive care, respect, and resources. Through this organization, I provide comprehensive care, peer support groups, and community workshops to help mothers navigate their journeys with confidence and support.

As a certified peer counselor, my approach is deeply informed by my own lived experiences including my personal journey with infertility. I understand the importance of culturally based care that considers family dynamics, cultural roots, and individual experiences.
