About The Training

Our training model transforms how youth, staff, and community partners engage, learn, and lead together. Rooted in the CARMA framework—Culture, Agency, Relationships, Meaning, and Aspirations—it weaves Healing-Centered Engagement (HCE), Rewire CBT, and Healing Circles into a cohesive, co-designed leadership journey.

From the start, participants—including youth residents and staff—are invited into a co-design process that shapes cultural norms, program rhythms, and shared goals. The model begins with joint onboarding sessions that combine HCE principles with practical cognitive-behavioral strategies from Rewire CBT, equipping participants with tools for emotional regulation, decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving. Healing Circles provide the relational space for storytelling, empathy, and collective transformation, ensuring these skills are practiced in real time.

Training is both experiential and sustainable. Youth and staff learn side-by-side through weekly group work, peer-led activities, creative expression projects, and one-on-one coaching, fostering authentic relationships and deep trust. Over time, participants progress into peer leadership pathways, including Certified Peer Specialist and Credible Messenger training, empowering them to mentor others, facilitate groups, and lead change both inside and beyond their current environment.

By centering voice, culture, and lived experience, this model builds a thriving ecosystem where healing and leadership grow together—transforming institutional culture from compliance to connection, and from surveillance to stewardship.
